Final Decision: Production Logo

The most popular design by far. As chosen by both me and Charlie, our target audience, and Mr. Jackson.

Production Logo: Survey Results

The survey clearly indicated that it was between the third 'Skyline' logo, or the final 'Big Ben' logo. The most popular was the 'Big Ben' design. Therefore, as we believe that design is the best, and so does our target audience, we will use that logo.

Production Company Logo Development: Big Ben

The simplistic design is sleek and clean. The logo clearly shows the company is based in London. I also used the same font from the previous design.

For the final stage of development, i simply moved the alignment of the company name. This is my favorite design. However, we will create a survey and ask members of our target audience what they think.

Production Company Logo Development: Skyline

The production company is based in london, therefore we decided that we would include iconic landmarks in the logo. Charlie then thought a vista type view of London's iconic landmarks would be a good idea for a logo. Our first attempt can be seen here.

I changed the focus and sharpness of the skyline picture and moved the film name. The font was also changed, to a fine serif font. This adds a sense of professionalism.

For the final stage of development, i removed the blue backdrop and placed a slant on the company name. The logo fits the stereotype for an independent production company, as it is simplistic, yet effective.

Blog Marking

Mr. Jackson marked my blog. I was graded at B2, and my main targets were to improve on some of the simple posts that need developing. Notable improvements to my blog are the influx of creative media posts.

Project Update 9: Casting Plan Update: 25/11/2013

We have casted both of the films main male characters, Older Brother (Name TBA) and Henry. Charlie's interview can be seen in a previous post, as well as his outakes. Connor Froy's has been filmed and edited, it just needs to be uploaded to the blog.

Sam Richards and Charlie Palmer Cogan: Previous Productions

Me and Charlie haves worked together on many previous projects, varying from short films to trailers. Our first collaboration was a preliminary task, which was filmed on the school site.

Our most recent production, Downfall, a short film produced by Solitude Productions, was a massive success.

Production Companies

Our first two collaborations were produced by 'Solitude Productions'. A British independent company. Our new production company, for the new release 'Plus One', is called 'Capital Films'.

Inspiration from TV: How Not to Live Your Life

How Not to Live Your Life

The show was first broadcast in 2007, and achieved huge success. The show follows 'Don' a young single and all round hopeless bloke. The show is a comedy, with some aspects of Romance. Don moves in with a girl he has been in love with since he was a teenager.

We also like the voice over used at the start of the show. We would like to use a similar voice over for our trailer.

Outtakes: Charlie PC

Despite Charlie's excellent acting ability, even he suffers outakes. Furthermore, these outakes show us his comedic side, and show how he will benfiet the film.

Interview: 'Henry' Charlie Palmer Cogan

Charlie will both star in the film, and be part of the production team. This will benfiet us massivley, as charlie will be available for filming at most times. His interview was a sucseess and we decided he is perfect for the role. His previous experience and future ambitions were also signifcant in the descion making progress.

Inspiration from Upcoming Comedy Films

That Awkward Moment

Neighbours

Despite these films being American, we like the narrative device of involving a couple into the main plot. This will definitely be a key aspect of our trailer.

Film Poster (Teaser)

This simplistic design fits the genre of our film, and its sleek clean layout allows me to promote the films actors, release date, and title

Audition Advertisements

I recently uploaded some posts regarding Casting. Before we could draw up a shortlist of actors to cast, we had to advertise our film. This process be .You can see examples below:

GoAnimate: Pitching the Project

Pitching the Project by Sam Richards on GoAnimate

The 50 word pitch is shown here using 'Go Animate', a creative multimedia site. I am pitching the project to the head of our production company, Capital Films.

Project Update 8: Decision on Company Name

After a group discussion we decided that 'Capital Films' was the best name for our new production company.

It has elements of both an internationally respected company and its specific to our genre and location.

Using Adobe Photoshop CS5, I will create a logo for the company. This will be uploaded in a later post.

Costume/Mis-en-Scene: Harry

Costume/Mise-en-Scene: Henry

Henry is a normal early twenty year old man. His costume is mostly casual and nothing too flashy. Modest yet modern. He lacks confidence but puts on a front to compete with his older brother.

Project Update: Casting for other charecters

We have completed casting for the films two main characters who will be in the trailer for the most scenes.

We still have to cast:

1) Best Friend (Boy)
2) Best Friend (Girl)
3) Girlfriend

Me and Charlie will work this out asap, and before the start of filming.

Casting: Harry (Older Brother)

We were surprised by the lack of applications for this role. However, we found Connor Froy to be perfect for the role. A filmed interview will follow.

Casting: Henry (Younger Brother)

We received four applications for this role. We decided Charlie Palmer Cogan would be perfect for the role. He fits both the character description and has the suitable amount of experience. A filmed interview will follow.
